Welcome to the Prayer Gardeners blog – a place to enjoy gardening related stories.

My name is Thomas B. Clarke but most people call me Tom. I am both a gardener and a self-published Christian author. For eleven years, I was Caretaker of the Gethsemane Prayer Garden at Faith Chapel in Syracuse, NY, overseeing the development and maintenance of that garden. At the time, this one-acre site was a perennial garden with benches throughout – it was devoted to prayer as a restful place where people can meet with the Lord.

After I retired from that prayer garden at the end of 2014, the church decided to use volunteers to maintain the garden. Unfortunately that did not work out. That garden, now overgrown with weeds, was closed to the public in August 2015.

My books are a scattering of Christian topics as the Lord has inspired me. The book A Garden of Love is a colorful presentation of love as inspired by the flowers of the Gethsemane Prayer Garden.
